Golden State Warriors president of basketball operations and general manager Bob Myers told reporters Monday that he doesn't know if star guard Klay Thompson is close to being 100 percent as he recovers from a torn ACL but noted that he hasn't had any setbacks.
He added that some of the progress in his recovery was stalled by the league shutdown because of the COVID-19 pandemic:

Thompson, 30, tore his ACL in Game 6 of the 2019 NBA Finals last June. That injury was always expected to keep him out for the entirety of the 2019-20 season, and with the Warriors not making the cut for the NBA's 22-team return to action in Orlando next month, Thompson will not play a game until the 2020-21 season begins, currently scheduled for December.
That means Thompson and Steph Curry—who played in just five games this season—will have had quite the break. That break was probably needed after the team played in five straight NBA Finals before this season, winning three titles.
As currently constructed, the Warriors will come back with a core group of Curry, Thompson, Draymond Green and Andrew Wiggins. They also will have a top-five pick in the 2020 NBA draft and Minnesota‘s top-three protected first-rounder in 2021 to use in a trade package should they want to add another star.
That makes the Warriors one of the most intriguing teams to watch both this offseason and next year. It wouldn't be a shock if a rested Curry and Thompson led the team on another deep postseason run.
Thompson remains one of the league's best two-way players and sharpshooters, averaging 21.5 points, 3.8 rebounds, 2.4 assists and 1.1 steals in the 2018-19 campaign while shooting 46.7 percent from the field and 40.2 percent from three. For his career Thompson is shooting 41.9 percent from beyond the arc on 7.0 attempts per game, making him one of the best perimeter shooters in history.
He was a huge factor in the team's three titles, and getting him back healthy and back to his previous form is key if the Dubs want to make another championship run in the future.
