Not only will Tom Brady help the Tampa Bay Buccaneers with his talent, but Peyton Manning also thinks the six-time Super Bowl champion will change the team's mentality.
“I can tell the way Tom is talking how excited he is,” Manning said Wednesday on 104.3 The Fan (via Nicki Jhabvala of The Athletic). “Everybody knows how hard a worker Tom is, and there's no doubt he's going to help create a winning culture there in Tampa that the rest of the players are going to feed off of.”
The Buccaneers went 7-9 last season and haven't reached the playoffs since 2007.
Tampa Bay has zero postseason wins since claiming the Super Bowl title after the 2002 season, but the organization seems to be trending in the right direction.
In addition to signing Brady in free agency, the Bucs traded for trusted tight end Rob Gronkowski on Tuesday. Brady will also have wide receivers Mike Evans and Chris Godwin along with tight end O.J. Howard as weapons.
While nothing is guaranteed, Brady brings with him an impressive resume of success. He's never had a losing record during his 19 years as a starter and has led the New England Patriots to a division title in each of his last 16 healthy seasons.
The Pats have also reached at least the AFC Championship Game in eight of the last nine years, with five Super Bowl appearances in this stretch.
The Bucs will hope Brady can bring close to this level of success to his new team.
