The Houston Texans opened up additional cap space by reportedly agreeing to a restructured deal with guard Zach Fulton.

Per ESPN's Field Yates, Fulton will earn up to $5 million in 2020 with a $2.5 million base salary, $1.5 million signing bonus and $1 million bonus for being on the Texans' 90-man roster. He will earn $2 million in base salary and a $1 million roster bonus in 2021.

Fulton originally signed a four-year, $28 million deal with the Texans in March 2018. That contract didn't include any guaranteed money over the final two seasons and gave the team an out after last season with no cap penalties.

Under the original contract, Fulton would have counted $7 million against the cap in 2020 and 2021. His restructured deal saves the Texans $2 million against the cap this season.

According to Spotrac, Houston had $17.7 million in cap space prior to restructuring Fulton's contract. He was originally drafted by the Kansas City Chiefs in the sixth round in 2014 and appeared in 63 games over four seasons with the team.
