As Christmas day approaches, we asked our panel to share some of their favorite Disney Christmas memories. Here are a few we had to share this holiday season.
Angie G’s memory involves what felt like a Christmas miracle for her. A little one no longer afraid of Character meet and greets and a photo with the entire family! Who could ask for more?
“My favorite Christmastime memory at Walt Disney World Resort is when my daughter caught me completely off-guard and gifted me with a family picture together with Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse. For years, my little girl would only greet the princesses, hiding behind Mom whenever big brother would say ‘Hiya Pal!’ to Mickey and his friends. Pictures with our favorite Characters never had all four of us together. Then, on our very first visit to the parks during the Christmas holidays, she ran into Mickey’s arms and gave him a big hug! She held Minnie’s hand during our picture together and told me ‘Merry Christmas Mom! Now you have a picture of us all with Mickey and Minnie!’ The smile on her face was the best gift I got that year.”
Ashley P. will always cherish the memory of her family’s first time attending Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party at Magic Kingdom Park.
“We had the best time experiencing our favorite attractions with special holiday overlays, sampling delicious treats, and catching exclusive entertainment! We were sure to find the perfect spot right in front of Cinderella Castle to see “Minnie’s Wonderful Christmastime Fireworks.” My heart burst with joy as I watched my children experience the unique holiday magic of this new fireworks show! The lyrics in ‘When We’re Together’ during the finale were just perfect for that moment – ‘When we’re together, I have everything on my list. And when we’re together, I have all I wished.’ I’ll never forget it!”
Panelists Tony and Kristin also have joyous memories of spending time with their loved ones at the Disneyland Resort.
Like remembering your favorite gift as a child, Tony shares some of his most precious holiday memories.“For our family, the highlight of the ‘Holiday Time at the Disneyland Resort’ Guided Tour was the chance to relax together in the reserved seating area across from ‘it’s a small world’ Holiday, sipping hot cocoa and munching delicious Mickey-shaped gingerbread cookies while we watched ‘A Christmas Fantasy’ Parade go by. Sometimes the simple, quiet moments make the most precious memories that we cherish.”
Kristin reflects on the joy of taking all three of her little ones to the Disneyland Resort during the holidays.
“As a native Southern Californian, I’ve been lucky to experience many holidays at the Disneyland Resort. But none were as special as the first time I visited the theme parks with all three of my children, since this was my youngest child’s first Christmas. They insisted on wearing Santa hats, and we enjoyed a magical day meeting Santa Claus at Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa, experiencing ‘A Christmas Fantasy’ Parade, and ‘it’s a small world’ Holiday. I’ll never forget taking this picture with all three of my Santa babies in Downtown Disney District!”
