Just texted with Johnathan Joseph. He is staying in the AFC South… and signing with the Tennessee Titans.

Joseph, 36, spent the past nine seasons with the Houston Texans after beginning his career with the Cincinnati Bengals (2006-10). The two-time Pro Bowler registered 51 tackles and an interception for the Texans last season.

In Tennessee, Joseph will battle for the starting job alongside Malcolm Butler. The Titans also have Adoree' Jackson and 2020 second-round pick Kristian Fulton on the depth chart, with both likely to make a big push for the starting or slot gig.

He also has familiarity with head coach Mike Vrabel—who served as the Texans defensive coordinator in 2017—and secondary coach Anthony Midget, who was also with Houston for the past six seasons.

“I'm familiar with the coaches and the division, and they went to the AFC title game last year,” Joseph told ESPN's Josina Anderson. “Not far from [North Carolina], so will get to travel on Friday and see [my] son play senior year football at North Carolina.”

Joseph's signing, meanwhile, all but assures that free-agent corner Logan Ryan will be playing for a new team this season. Ryan, 29, posted 113 tackles, 4.5 sacks, four interceptions and four forced fumbles in 2019.
