After being named a member of the 99 Club on Thursday morning, New England Patriots star Stephon Gilmore is officially the top-ranked cornerback in Madden NFL 21.
ESPN's Adam Schefter unveiled the top 10 cornerbacks for this year's game, with Jalen Ramsey of the Los Angeles Rams coming in at No. 2 with a 94 overall rating:

Gilmore is one of four players who received the highest possible rating in this year's game. He is joined by Patrick Mahomes of the Kansas City Chiefs, Aaron Donald of the Los Angeles Rams and Christian McCaffrey of the Carolina Panthers.
It's a deserved honor for Gilmore, who was named 2019 NFL Defensive Player of the Year. He also allowed a passer rating of 48.0 and completion percentage under 50.0 when quarterbacks threw in his direction last season, per Pro Football Focus' Sam Monson.
Ramsey edged Richard Sherman of the San Francisco 49ers for the No. 2 spot. The Rams star only played in 12 games last season, primarily because of a contract dispute with the Jacksonville Jaguars early in the year before he was traded.
Ramsey's stats suffered, as he only finished with five pass breakups and one interception. The 25-year-old seems poised for a big season as he plays for a new deal and is more familiar with his surroundings.
Sherman remains a rock on the left side of San Francisco's defense. He allowed just one touchdown catch and 8.4 yards per reception last season, per Solomon Wilcots of Pro Football Focus.
The back half of the top 10 is a cluster of cornerbacks with 88-89 overall ratings. Since these are only their ratings at launch, there could be a lot of moving and shaking on this list after the season begins Sept. 10.
Madden NFL 21 will drop on the Playstation 4, Xbox One and Windows on Aug. 28. It will be made available later in the year on next-gen systems, including the Playstation 5 and Xbox Series X.
